Socks
opal

The new Opal collection, Petticoat, will be arriving in May.

We are selling more yarn for socks than ever before so it is a challenge to keep new and exciting colours in the store. We are up to the task though and the store has more colours in stock than ever!!

Austermann's Step is a new approach to sock yarn with great colour patterns. The yarn contains Aloe Vera and Jojoba Oil two of the oldest of the well know medicinal plants. The effect is proven to remain after more than 40 household washes. Through the special treatment STEP receives a cashmere-like soft touch.

The current stock of sock yarns include

Opal's sock contest (with pattern for baby socks)....

Happy Knitting!

We are starting to get kits made up for the Knitter's Frolic in Toronto on April 22. This is a one day show with over 30 vendors showcasing new yarns, books, patterns, kits, needles and accessories. There are great workshops with Lily Chin, Maureen Mason-Jamieson and many more wonderful teachers.

You will see a trend in many of the new yarns this spring. Many of the companies are going back to more 'traditional' yarns.

This newsletter is introducing some new yarns and patterns that are in the store but aren't on the website yet.

We are now in our summer hours. The store is open Tuesday-Friday 10-5:30 and Saturday 10-4. We will reopen on Mondays starting in September.

While at the spring trade show in San Diego I found KnitWhits which produces great patterns for purses and hats.

The Elyse felted bag is just one of the innovative purse patterns available.

If you are looking for different hat patterns, this is the company. Many are designed in both cotton (Tahki Cotton Classic is recommended) or worsted weight wool.
