Gone Stitchin' Weekend
bayview

We are returning again to The Bayview-Wildwood Resort, just north of Orillia, Ontario. This is just outside the room where most of the workshops are taught. If you could turn to the right you would looking out over Sparrow Lake.

Our 9th annual weekend will take place on September 14-17, 2006.

The instructors this year are Barry Klein (Trendsetter Yarns), Maureen Mason-Jamieson, Bev Galeskas (Fiber Trends) and Julia Dinner (Village Yarns).

Join us for a relaxing weekend of fun and learning. There are workshops being offered for every skill level.

Many people ask us about the ages of people attending. Rae, our youngest attendee is just starting university, and the range goes up from there.

The weekend is very laid back with jeans as the normal attire. Sometimes people sleep in and miss a workshop-we don't take attendance.

Your weekend price includes accomodations, all meals and workshops. The only time you will need money is for drinks at dinner and if you want to buy more yarn at the sale table.

Happy Knitting!

We hope that you are enjoying reading our newsletters. These will keep you informed on the latest knitting news.

Right now these are coming out weekly as new products are arriving. The frequency of newsletters will slow down until the new fall yarns are here.

Vero
vero sweater

This new yarn is from Wentworth Distributors (the company that brings us Naturally). They are located in New Zealand where the seasons are opposite of ours. Because winter is just around the corner there, new wools are being introduced. We are bringing these wools in now - many of you don't knit for summer and this lets you get the jump on a garment for fall.

Vero is 100% pure wool that self stripes with patterns for men, women and children.

The yarn is great for felting-use it for the famous Booga Bag. There are 80m on a 50gram ball-you might need an extra ball for the bag.

Fabulous Felted Bags
nicky bag

Following the success of her Jacobean felted bag design, Nicky Epstein created a dozen more unique bags to knit and felt. In a whimsical mood? Try one of her animal designs. Need something more sophisticated? Go with one of the geometric designs. Feeling feminine? Choose one of the flowery purses.

All bags are knitted using Jamieson's Shetland yarns, in either the Double Knitting or the Heather Aran weight.

There are 15 designs in this 84 page soft cover book.

Tent Sale

Every June we set a tent up in our parking lot to sell off odd balls, discontinued yarns and overstock from the store. You will find great deals on many different yarns from baby to Rowan.

The tent sale will be Wednesday June 21 and Thursday June 22 with hours of noon until 8pm. The store will be closed on Tuesday June 20 so that we can get everything ready.

In previous years you had to come into the store to pay which caused quite a traffic jam of people at the cash register. This year we will also have a cash register set up in the tent for those paying with cash. An added bonus-pay with cash and get a 10% discount (on tent sale yarns). Also, on Thursday after 5pm there will be an extra 10% discount on all remaining tent yarns. (Pay cash and get 20% off!!)

What is a Blog?

A few readers of the newsletter have asked 'What is a Blog?' In the simplest form a Blog is like an online journal. You can post comments and pictures for others can read.

There are many different sites that offer you free Blogs-mine is with Blogger.

I post pictures of current knitting projects as well as new yarn in the store. Once you start a Blog you want to complete all your unfinished projects so that you can show off to everyone. It has really inspired me to knit more.
