Rowan magazine #40

The Rowan magazine is on its way to the store. It should be here Monday afternoon (we are closed) and the box will be open and ready to sell on Tuesday morning. I have the pictures posted on my blog.

There are 2 small magazines coming out called Country Escape (for the new yarn Country) and Arabesque (for Biggy Print, Big Wool Fusion and the new yarn Little Big Wool). These will be in the store by the middle of August.

The magazine has great designs for both women and men. Rowan has gone back to what they are known for. Stylish sweaters that can be worn for years to come.

After August 1, the complete magazine will be up on the Rowan site along with shade cards for the yarns

Berroco booklet 247
fleur

Fleur is knit out of Foliage which is a blend of 53% New Wool and 47% Acrylic. Jane is knitting up a sample for the store. I saw this knit at the trade show in June and it is spectacular. You start by knitting 682 rows of moss stitch for the band. Then you pick up 341from the band, join into a circle, knitting every row and decreasing to the centre. Sleeves are added at the end.

Berroco Ultra Alpaca
addison

Addison is knit with Ultra Alpaca and can be found in magazine 250. Ann is knitting this for me. I am hoping it will be done by the Knitter's Fair!

This amazing yarn is a blend of 50% wool and 50% alpaca. Retailing for $9.99 it is a great deal. Ultra Alpaca knits to a true worsted weight so you can use it for Berroco patterns or other patterns you have at home. Berroco has free patterns that you can download from their site. With 198m on a skein a ladies pattern is taking from 6-10 skeins and a mans pattern takes 7-12 skeins. It felts great as well.

New Fiber Trends patterns
ac82

AC-82 is just one of the new patterns that Fiber Trends is introducing for fall. You can knit this shawl out of JJ's Montage or Naturally's Sensation.

You will also see a difference in the look of Fiber Trends patterns. They are no longer going to be on blue paper.
