Here are a group of ladies in Barry's class making a purse.

The dates are set for the 2007 retreat. September 13-16. This will be our 10th anniversary so great things are planned. Our instructors are confirmed- Sally Melville and Barry Klein from Trendsetter.

Pricing for the weekend is set. The price includes accomodations, meals, workshops, fashion show, student fashion show and lots of laughs.

For everyone who registers before January 31, 2007 with full payment, your name will be entered into a draw to win a free weekend for September 2008. We are registering on a first come basis by the date of full payment. The class registrations will work this way as well. The first to pay in full will be the first into the classes.

Color on the Side
ft459

FT-459 is a new pattern from Fiber Trends. I have just finished this jacket and it is hanging in the store. The picture is Vero colour 14 and mine is Vero Tweeds colour 1.

The pattern will work with any self-striping yarn.

Jane Ellison
jane

Mavis from Naturally Noro. Jane writes pattern books for numerous companies but we know her best for her Noro designs.

Jane will be teaching a full day workshop in the store on Wednesday October 25. Jane and I are working out the details but I know we will be working with Noro yarns probably making a cushion or bag (included in price of the workshop). The cost of the day is $100 and lunch will be provided. Come meet Jane, learn new techniques and have fun trying on garments from her books.

Lizard Ridge
lr

You will find this amazing afghan pattern on Knitty.com. It's a great way to play with Noro Kureyon. You can buy your yarn ball by ball as you need it since you are working in squares and dye lots don't matter.

I have started to knit this in earth tones. The pattern is easy to understand but I have made a few notes to make it easier.

CreativFestival

From Thursday October 19-Sunday October 22 we will have a booth at the CreativFestival (formerly known as The Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival) at the Convention Center in Toronto.
