storeI hope you like the new look of our newsletter.  Constant Contact has made some changes that will make it easier to layout a newsletter in the future but this first issue took a bit of playing.

The website has been moved to a new server so we should be trouble free now.  Korey is busy adding the new yarns and books-keep checking back.
Rowan Damask
peonyThis is the second new yarn from Rowan for Spring.

This double knitting weight yarn is a blend of linens.  There are 105m on a 50gram ball.

Patterns for this yarn can be found in Rowan magazine #41.  This jacket is called Peony and uses Damask with Kid Silk Haze flowers.

Patterns for Men
tobiasWe are starting to see more patterns for men.  If you take a look at the Garnstudio site, you will find many free to download.

You will also find men's patterns from RYC, Sirdar and Noro.

Tobias is one of the many men's patterns feature in Rowan magazine 41.  It is knit out of Summer Tweed.  This yarn is a mix of cotton and silk and is great for men because it is machine washable.
The Internet
You use the internet to search for weather, news and sports.  Why not use it to look up knitting information.  Many people come in the store looking for patterns but never thought to search the internet.

While making the following list for you I found some great sites that I had never visited before.

Don't forget that you can also do a 'google' search.

When you go to buy yarn for a downloaded pattern here are some tips
  • take the full pattern with you
  • get the yarn details from the internet (tension and yardage)

This will help your yarn shop if they don't carry the yarn or the yarn has been discontinued.

Pure Cotton Magazine
AmelieAmelie is featured in Debbie Bliss' new magazine Pure Cotton.  There are 16 designs in her new yarns Pure Cotton (100% cotton) and Stella (60% silk, 20% cotton and 20% viscose).  These yarns are interchangeable-both aran weight.  You can also use Alpaca Silk or Cashmerino Aran for these designs.
With winter finally upon us why not curl up in front of the fireplace and get some knitting done?

Sincerely,
Julie
