The response has been amazing for our 2007 weekend.  We already have 38 knitters registered with room for 15 more.  Barry's classes have been decided and will be on the Gone Stitchin' website soon.

lavoldThe Saturday classes over the past few weeks went well.  The kids in the mother/daughter class did great.  They learned how to cast on, knit, add a new ball of yarn and felting.  My crochet class persevered and they came away with the start of a scarf.
Shawl Pins
shawl pins

Instead of adding buttons to a jacket, why not use a shawl pin?

These are a sample from a company called Cats & Cobwebs.  A shipment just arrived of these amazing, handmade shawl pins.  Everytime a shipment arrives we have fun opening the box to see what has come this time.

Pearly Health is knit out of a new yarn called Cinnabar which is a mix of Viscose, Cotton, Acrylic, Silk and Linen.

Why a pink Denise kit?
denise needlesBreast cancer strikes often and it strikes close to home. Awareness and education are crucial, but so is research funding. Five dollars from your purchase of this pink Denise kit goes directly and entirely to breast cancer research through the S.D. Ireland fund. Every dollar makes a difference.

As of February 1, $21,385 has been donated.

Pink Denise kits should be in the store by the end of February.

Baby Yarn
tiny tots Have you noticed how many babies are being born lately?  We have customers in every day who are knitting for a newborn or one on the way.

Tiny Tots from Sirdar is a great baby yarn.  It is 100% acrylic that machine washes well.  There are 137m on a 50 gram ball and it knits to a double knitting tension which means there are lots of great patterns.  The original colours were very 'babyish' but the new colours are great for the modern baby.

Jordana Paige asked me to take part in a survey about how we market her bags in the store.  For doing this she sent me a free Knitter's Satchel. I have decided to let one of you have this bag.  Each time you spend $100 from now until the end of March, both in the store and online, you will be entered in a draw to win one of her Knitter's Satchels-you choose the colour.
DRAW WILL TAKE PLACE SATURDAY, MARCH 31 AT 3PM
