Ravelry

If you haven't joined Ravelry yet, please take a few minutes and go to the website.  It is free to join and you will have an invite in about a week.  Even if you don't want to show off projects or your stash it is a great tool for knitters.  Many of you have stashed yarn at home or older patterns that are calling for discontinued yarns.  Use Ravelry as a tool to see what other knitters are doing with that yarn or what yarn they have used to knit a pattern.

For the next few newsletters I am going to show some of the more popular projects and yarns from Ravelry.

Don't forget that starting in April the store will be closed on Mondays until September.

Korey has been tied up with an important project so the new yarns haven't made it to the website yet.  I have started adding new patterns.  You will find patterns from
  • Dolce Handknits
  • Fiber Trends
  • Jane Slicer-Smith
  • KnitWhits
  • iKnitiative
  • Classic Elite
  • Blue Sky Alpacas
  • Vermont Fiber Designs
  • Sirdar
  • Trendsetter
  • Naturally

I have also started adding in new patterns from Noni.  Keep checking back because whenever I find a couple of minutes I keep adding more.

The Knitter's Frolic is coming up.  Mark Saturday, April 26 on your calendar.  The market will run on Saturday with classes running on Saturday and Sunday.  When the flyers are available I will forward the information.  I do know that the scheduled instructors are Sally Melville, Debbie New, Fiona Ellis, Maureen Mason-Jamieson, Denise Powell, Wannietta Prescod, Diane Martin, Deb Gemmell, Julia Bryant and Joan Kass. Spinner Lorraine Smith will be teaching two workshops.
Kureyon Sock Yarn
noro socks
Noro is producing a sock yarn called Kureyon Socks.  It is 70% wool and 30% nylon dyed to match the original Kureyon.  I have read on Ravelry that the yarn can be machine washed and greatly softens after the first washing.

We hope to have this in the store early next week.

Skinny Cardigan
skinny cardigan
The Skinny Cardigan is knit out of Blue Sky Alpaca's Skinny Cotton.  We have stock in the store and the yarn will be on the website soon.

Skinny Cotton is 100% organically grown and the colours are created with low-impact dyes.

Sarah is knitting the cardigan in brown and pink and should have it done for the Knitter's Frolic.

Shepherd Sock yarn has arrived!!
little can of paint
In the last newsletter I talked about the Shepherd Sock yarn from Lorna's Laces.  It will be on the website soon but it isn't there yet.  If you watch my blog, I post when new colours arrive.

While in Chicago next week I will be visiting Lorna's Laces.  It will be interesting to see how the dying is done.
