Don't forget that starting in April the store will be closed on Mondays until September.

We are talking about the dates of the tent sale.  Right now we are looking at July 8, 9 and 10.  Things are going to change a bit this year.  We won't have a tent in our parking lot.  We are going to rent St. John's Parrish Hall which is near the store.  This way we don't have to bring the yarn inside every night, the weather doesn't matter and there is a lot more parking.

Korey and I are continuing to add patterns and yarns to the website.  To make it easier for you to find new products, you will see 'new' before the name and it will show up at the top of the category.

The Knitter's Frolic is coming up.  Mark Saturday, April 26 on your calendar.  The market will run on Saturday with classes running on Saturday and Sunday.
Kauni is here
noro socks
Kauni is 100% wool that is made in Europe.  The colour changes in the yarn are long making wider stripes than other self-striping yarns.

This is the Autumn Cardigan from Ruth Sørensen.  The cardigan on the left is knit using EK for the background and EQ for the leaves.  EK is also the background for the cardigan on the right with the leaves done in EF.  We have these colours available in the store (and will have it at the Frolic).

I bought the pattern online from Ruth using Paypal-it was very easy to do.

New Books
guy knits
From rugged to refined, and from casual to corporate, these 25 men's handknit projects are classics with style. A recent shift in the yarn world-away from novelty yarns to interesting standards, luxurious blends, and rich tweeds-ensures that these knits will be worn, look good, and fun to make. In addition to swatches highlighting new yarn choices, clear illustrations encourage the knitter to try color work, cables, or textured stitches for the first time. With the wide range of sizes and a special knit-to-fit section, these pullovers, cardigans, vests, and waistcoats work for men in all walks of life.
Cotton Sweaters
Summer is almost here and it's time to get your cotton sweaters out of the closet.  Here are some tips for washing them
-put the garment in a lingerie bag or zippered pillow case
-wash in the machine-you can use the gentle cycle but you don't have to
-put the garment in the dryer (still in the bag or pillow case)
-set the dryer to 20-30 minutes
-let the dryer sit until it has cooled down and then run it again for 20-30 minutes
-repeat again if necessary

Customers tell me that they hand wash their cotton sweaters and lay them out to dry and my question is always 'Why?'  You wash your cotton t-shirts in the machine so why not you sweaters.  If your cotton sweater goes out of shape, washing it in the machine and drying it will bring it back to its original shape.  If you lie your cotton sweater out to dry it can get a musty smell to it.  Also, when it drys, it can have a hard feel to it.
